The fifth best book I read this year was written by Paul Smith and titled, The Ten Great Stories Leaders Tell.

In it he writes, if you tell your people a boring, irrelevant story, even if delivered beautifully, your audience won’t forgive you for wasting their time. In other words, WHAT stories you tell is more important than HOW you tell it.

Stories are:

• Aids to decision-making
• Timeless
• Demographic-proof
• More memorable
• Contagious
• Inspirational
