Have you ever heard the term, "nice guys finish last?" Well, maybe that means they live longer and die last as well.
According to an article written by Dr. Graham E. Farless, there are seven life-changing benefits of being kind.
- Kindness boosts your immune system by releasing oxytocin, the feel-good hormone, and reduces inflammation in your body.
- It’s good for your heart. The releasing of oxytocin expands blood vessels which reduces blood pressure.
- It reduces anxiety. When you are nice to others, you start to see the world through their perspective. When you see the world through another perspective, you will learn more about them and the type of help they may need. Having that mindset reduces anxiety for you and your friends.
- You can build a village. When you are kind, it always comes back allowing you to build a strong network of humans.
- You are in control when you show kindness to others. Even when we are nice to those that bully us or don’t deserve it.
- Kindness can give you a break like meditation.
- Kindness is what we all need.
