Episode 676 - Eight Misconceptions About Growth
John C. Maxwell wrote about misconceptions about growth in his book, The Invaluable Laws of Growth. There are times in our life where we look back and realized we’ve grown in an area. Goals that stick are ones that are accomplished through intentional activity to achieving the goal. Here are 8 misconceptions about growth:
- The assumption gap – I assume that I will automatically grow
- The knowledge gap - I don’t know how to grow
- The time in gap – it’s not the right time to begin
- The mistake gap – I’m afraid of making mistakes
- The perfection gap - I have to find the best way before I start
- The inspiration gap – I don’t feel like doing it
- The comparison gap - others are better than I am
- The expectation gap – I thought it would be easier than this
What goals do you have in life that you can become intentional with? Jim Rome once said, “you cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.”
Change your direction today.
