There were 130 preorders of my book, You Got It; Now Go Get It. Since this is a big moment for me, and knowing I couldn't have done it without the support of these people, I wanted to call each and everyone of them to offer a personal thank you.
I received some great advice from one of the individuals. He told me how he picks up his phone, clicks his contacts, and swipes up/down. Whomever the scrolling stops on is who he'll call. He's had some of the most meaningful conversations.
Here are some benefits to calling someone:
- Memories – when you speak to someone from the ‘good ‘ol days’ it can remind you of everything you’ve gone through to get to where you are today or “who” you are today. Your friends have an impact – calling someone out of the blue will remind you of that.
- Feedback – this year has been tough for everyone. When you call someone to talk on the phone, you’ll receive true feedback instead of keyboard feedback. True feedback will reveal what someone is really trying to say. Catching up can turn into a meaningful conversation really quick. They might offer feedback to a situation you’re involved in that will make a change for the better.
- Love – When you call someone unexpectedly they will appreciate it. You are showing how much you care for them. When you show appreciation to others it’s hard to be in a bad place yourself.
