The Means Bubble - Religion
As we wrap up our series, The Means Bubble, I'd like to share a comment I found in a religious chat:
The idea that "the ends justify the means" admits that there is something inherently wrong with "the means". Indeed, it admits that "the means" are actually unjustified by themselves. The claim, then, is that although "the means" are unjustifiable in themselves, that a particular outcome that is achieved by them results in the justification of the unjustified.
What a great perspective to consider. The ends never justify the means in religion because God doesn't value the end result more than the means and activity we do on a daily basis.
If we follow the golden rule and do unto others as we want done unto us, we will walk in righteousness and all means are justified.
