The Daily Wake Up Micro-PodcastEpisode 708 - Be the Nice Guy#knowTroy #DWUpodcast #niceguy
Have you ever heard the term, "nice guys finish last?" Well, maybe that means they live longer and die last as well.
According to an article written by Dr. Graham E. Farless, there are seven life-changing benefits of being kind.
Kindness boosts your immune system by releasing oxytocin, the feel-good hormone, and reduces inflammation in your body.
It’s good for your heart. The releasing of oxytocin expands blood vessels which reduces blood pressure.
It reduces anxiety. When you are nice to others, you start to see the world through their perspective. When you see the world through another perspective, you will learn more about them and the type of help they may need. Having that mindset reduces anxiety for you and your friends.
You can build a village. When you are kind, it always comes back allowing you to build a strong network of humans.
You are in control when you show kindness to others. Even when we are nice to those that bully us or don’t deserve it.
Kindness can give you a break like meditation.
Kindness is what we all need.

It was August 2018, and we were at a sales clinic when someone walked on the stage to give their talk. As someone with ADHD and Dyslexia, it was hard for me to focus on what speakers had to say.
If you’ve read my book, you know that 2018 didn’t start the way I had thought it would. My wife and I were expecting a sizable amount of money which never arrived. The betrayal stung, however, it also sparked me to read non-fiction books. It was August of 2018 which meant I had read 25 books so far on my way to 60 by the end of the year. The books I read were self-help since I needed to get better.
As Trevor started to speak, I thought to myself, this guy sure looks like Jim Caviezel. Trevor spoke and I listened. I remember that day clearly because I had taken two-to-three pages of notes since some of the mindset principals reminded me of the books I had read. What was different was Trevor’s explanation of neutral thinking.
After he was done the line to talk to him was twenty people long. I stood in it anyway. When it was my turn I asked him, “have anyone ever told you, you look like Jim Caviezel?” He laughed and said, “no, you’re the first.” We spoke for a bit, then I walked over to the founders of the company.

The Daily Wake Up Micro-Podcast Tribute 2 Trevor Series: Better than Most Speakers
#knowTroy #DWUpodcast #RIPtrevor
The second time I heard Trevor Moawad speak was in January 2019 and he made an interesting statement. He shared with the audience how he thought of his ability to speak as a motivational speaker. He didn't mention any names, however, he did say they didn't have anything on him when it came to speaking.
His point was he can only control what he can control. Even if he's better than other speakers, he can't control their ability to get better speaking opportunities. It was a valuable lesson for me to learn. Control what you control and enjoy what it is you are doing even if the accolades aren't a part of it.

The Daily Wake Up Micro Podcast Episode 704 - Tribute 2 Trevor Series: Neutral Thinking#knowTroy #DWUpodcast #RIPtrevor
In 2013, at the age of 42, I was diagnosed with adult ADHD. My doctor convinced me to consider medication for my lack of focus. He said, “your life will never be the same.” Reluctantly, I tried it and my life was changed forever. The first thing I did was read. Reading had always been a struggle for me because it was hard to retain what I read. As I read, I realized how much of a negative person I was. Every part of the world I looked at was from a negative perspective. I learned by reading that rich or successful people have an ultra-positive outlook on life. It was as if they never had a bad day. I began to think that way. Always trying to find the positive in any situation.
When I first met Trevor Moawad in August of 2018 it was five years after I had shifted my mindset to a positive one. . . or attempted to have a positive mindset. Trevor walked on the stage and started his speech with a question, “how many times have you had positive thoughts and your day still sucks.
“That’s me.” I thought to myself. “Who is this guy?” I wondered.
Trevor continued, “positive thinking doesn’t work all the time, does it?”
“No, no it doesn’t.” I said like a giddy little schoolgirl raising my hand.
“You know what works 100% of the time?” Trevor asked. I waited in eager anticipation. “Negative thinking.” I paused and sat back in my chair pondering what had just happened. He just said positive thinking doesn’t work all the time, yet negative thinking works 100% of the time. I had no idea what was going on.
“Let me tell you something about neutrality and the power of neutral thinking.” Trevor continued to share, and my self-help philosophies were taking shape.

Episode 703 - Tribute 2 Trevor Series: It's Not Fair
#knowTroy #DWUpodcast #trevormoawad
On Wednesday, September 15, 2021, Top Mental Health Coach and sports psychologist, Trevor Moawad, passed away from cancer. He was 48 years old.
On Friday, October 11, 2013, Top human being and former pastor, my dad, Wayne Ritchie died from a cardiac arrest. He was 67 years old. We prayed him back and he is now a pastor here in Las Vegas.
Ever since we prayed my dad back in 2013, I think everyone will conquer death, yet Trevor Moawad passed away.
It’s not fair.
Like my dad, Trevor had so much to offer the world, Lord, why take that away? If it wasn’t for Trevor, I wouldn’t be the man I am today. I wouldn’t be speaking at schools, wouldn’t have written a book, he impacted my life greatly and could have done the same for others.
It’s not fair.
I knew Trevor more than he knew me. If we would have passed each other in the grocery store, he probably wouldn’t recognize me. I’ve only met with him three to four times. He wouldn’t remember who I was until I called him Jim Caviezel. For some reason he reminds me of the actor Jim Caviezel. When I told him that, it made an impression; Trevor liked it.
It’s not fair.
As I call out to God asking for a reason, I can picture Trevor in Heaven leaning in whispering to God, ‘it’s ok, I got this.”
“Troy,” Trevor might say, “you can only control what you can control. You know what it takes to do what it is you need to do. Take advantage of your time on earth. Think neutrally and execute at an elite level.”
Thanks, Trevor, I needed that. Rest in peace, my friend.

The Daily Wake Up Micro-PodcastEpisode 702 – Feedback from Middle Schoolers #knowTroy #DWUpodcast #genz #speaking
What did you like (if anything) about this Mentor Message?
One thing that I enjoyed over hearing this is I liked how much effort and voice he had.
I like how Coach Troy said that we are all winners.
Thought provoking
It made me feel unique.
It was inspiring... I don't know, I just felt something amazing and don't know how to describe it
That everyone is a winner and to like who you are.
The chances of me being born are one in 400 trillion, but I overcame odds far bigger than any other chance, and I won, which is the foundation of self-esteem. I am my own person, and no one is greater than me, yet I'm not greater then anyone else.
I liked how this Mentor Message basically said we beat the biggest odd which was being born. Furthermore, this is because theirs a 1 in 400 trillion possibility/chance of you being born.
I liked how they said you are a winner just by being alive and I also liked how they said that the odds of me being born were 1 in 400 trillion because it made me feel like I was special and actually worth something.
What I liked about the Mentor Message is when he said "There is no one greater than you and you are greater than nobody."

Have gratitude for your spouse
Respect your differences
Have empathy in difficult and trying times
Let go of things that don’t matter
