Pride Comes Before the Fall

Being proud of the work you've done is different than having pride. When you are proud of something the emphasis is on the something and not you. When you have pride, the emphasis is on you and that's a dangerous place to be.
This morning I share a bit from today's devotional where Gideon followed God's instruction of downsizing an army before battle so everyone would know the victory was because of God and not what Gideon did.

The Benefits of Sticking With It

Just started my 25th book this year and it isn't giving me a return on the time I'm investing in reading the book. As tempting as it is to stop reading, I'm going to finish it because you learn a lot about yourself when you finish a book that is underwhelming.
This can apply to other aspects of life as well. Do you finish what you started when you realize it's not what you thought it was? If it's a project with a definite end in sight, I would say stick with it.

Starting off too fast?

BANG! The starting gun goes off for a FUNd run fundraiser for the elementary campus. Elementary students sprint out of the gate to see how many laps they can run in 10 minutes. After one minute though the students starting walking, complaining of pain in their side. They started off too strong and didn’t pace themselves. How many of us do that in life with our projects or ideas?

Talent isn’t always found in results

People don’t compliment me much in the quality of my content. The biggest attribute I’m known for is not stopping and doing what I said I was going to do. Often times my results aren’t what the world would deem as successful. Yet in my shortcomings, I have inspired many to greatness. Sometimes your talent isn’t always found in results.

What has your experience been when making a purchase through Craigslist, FB Marketplace and Offer Up? Mine has been very pleasant and the people who are selling the items have been great to work with. Isn’t it amazing that we as a species can be civil with each other when we want to be.
