What is a statistical anomaly?
A submission on Wikipedia describes it this way: In data analysis, anomaly detection (also outlier detection) is the identification of rare items, events or observations which raise suspicions by differing significantly from the majority of the data. Typically the anomalous items will translate to some kind of problem such as bank fraud, a structural defect, medical problems or errors in a text. Anomalies are also referred to as outliers, novelties, noise, deviations and exceptions.
We are hearing about statistical anomalies with the 2020 election. Sure, if you Google, "statistical anomalies" you'll find page after page refuting the idea that the numbers don't add up, however are they telling us the truth?
Patrick Basham has pointed out if this election is truly an exceptional one, it would be exceptional everywhere and not just in key cities, key counties, and key states.
Be a supporter of the truth. We are Americans before we are Republicans and Democrats.

The Evil Algorithm?
Friday Dec 04, 2020
Friday Dec 04, 2020
Last month after speaking to men about accountability to their God, wife, family and fellow brethren, one of the audience members came up to me and said, “Troy we need to stop the algorithm!” This gentleman didn’t seem like he knew technology, so I asked, “what do you mean by stopping the algorithms?”
He said, “they are evil and meant to destroy us.” As I tried to explain to him that algorithms, at their core, aren’t “evil.” They are a neither good or evil. They are based on our behaviors. I believe what he meant was the idea that there is a puppet master coding a way for an algorithm to control our thoughts and eventually our actions.
Pedro Domingos wrote a book called The Master Algorithm, in which he writes: “An algorithm is a sequence of instructions telling a computer what to do. They are reduced to three logical operations: AND, OR, and NOT. While these operations can chain together in extraordinarily complex ways, at the core, algorithms are built out of simple rational associations.”

Tell the Truth. Always.
Thursday Dec 03, 2020
Thursday Dec 03, 2020
I have heard the term "signed affidavit," more than I'd like to these days and it's a sad reflection of what we've become as a country.
We are a country of liars.
From on article written on September 4, 2013 on ScienceDaily dot com:
LSU Associate Professor Sean Lane and former graduate student Kathleen Vieria conducted a study which was accepted for publication in the Journal of Applied Research and Memory Cognition.
False descriptions are deliberate flights of the imagination -- details and descriptions that we invent for something that didn't happen. As it turned out, these lies were far easier for Lane's test subjects to remember.
The same is not true for false denials. This kind of lie -- denying something that actually happened -- is often brief, and its cognitive demand is therefore much smaller.
When the media fabricates a story, they are using their imagination which feeds into the lie that they eventually believe.
Ignore the urge to tell a lie; any kind of lie. Whether it be a white lie, black lie, or half-truths, tell the truth. Always.

The Purpose in What You Do
Wednesday Dec 02, 2020
Wednesday Dec 02, 2020
I finished book number 80 in 2020 yesterday and started book number 81!
The non-fiction subject matter I choose to read is, Personal Development, Sales, Leadership, Religion, Parenting, and Business. By consuming this content it makes me better at what I do and the subject matter I include in my content.
Of the 80 books I've read, 70 were written by men.
Is that a problem? Only if you make it one.
You see the purpose in what I read is related to: Personal Development, Sales, Leadership, Religion, Parenting, and Business.
The purpose isn't to find female or male authors. I'm not looking for the hippest up and coming author, where the author lives or their age. Those things aren't important to me. What's important, is the subject matter of the content I want to consume.
What is it that's important to you when you do things?
It feels like the "cancel culture" likes to watch what we do and if it doesn't fit their purpose, they will let you know about it.
Be strong in the reason you do things and ignore the noise from those in the culture.

The Source of Information
Tuesday Dec 01, 2020
Tuesday Dec 01, 2020
Our political differences stem from media outlets that are controlling the narrative. The purpose on both sides isn’t to share truth. The purpose is to push an audience towards their agenda. The next time you hear information, think for yourself about the legitimacy of the information and show grace to those you disagree with. Most of the time they are getting their information from another source.

Be a Freethinker Not a Kool-Aid Drinker
Monday Nov 30, 2020
Monday Nov 30, 2020
The term “drinking the kool-aid” means you are someone who believes what you are told without thinking for yourself. The term “freethinker” means you are someone who thinks independently and forms opinions on the basis of reason independently of authority.

2020 - Where are you Thankful?
Friday Nov 27, 2020
Friday Nov 27, 2020
We are at the final W in the 5W's of Thanksgiving during Thanksgiving Week which is WHERE.
Where are you thankful?
As a species we like to follow patterns. Establish a pattern of where you are thankful.
Where can you isolate yourself to spend time being thankful for all the good things you have in your life?
For me, it's at my desk, and kneeling at the corner of the couch in our loft. When I'm in those postures, my body begins to prepare for thankfulness.

2020 - When are you Thankful?
Thursday Nov 26, 2020
Thursday Nov 26, 2020
Today is Thanksgiving and we are celebrating a day of thanks for everything we have in our life.
Why limit this day of thanks to one day?
In today's #micropodcast we discuss the fourth W in the 5W's - WHEN.
When are you thankful? Is it in the morning when you wake up? In the evening before you go to bed?
What time of the day do you intentionally set aside a portion of the day to give thanks?
If you don't have that in your routine, get started on one now!
You got it, NOW go #getit

Thursday Nov 26, 2020
Thursday Nov 26, 2020
We continue with the 5W's of Thankfulness during Thanksgiving Week by being thankful for the WHAT in our life.
Write down three things you are thankful for in your activities.
Write down three things you are thankful for in your possessions.
So many times we focus on what we aren't doing or things we don't have.
Today, let's be thankful on what we do and what we have.
