Mike Pence, Kamala Harris, and a Fly in the Room
Friday Oct 09, 2020
Friday Oct 09, 2020
I couldn’t believe how condescending Kamala Harris was in the Vice Presidential debate on Wednesday. Others will say, “I can’t believe how condescending Mike Pence was.” Isn’t it interesting that the same event occurred yet people only see their reality based on their initial influence? The best thing I saw that night was a black fly contrasted on extremely white hair. The best thing I heard was that two Supreme Court justices were polar opposites politically, yet were close family friends. We could do the same.

Service God and Your Neighbor through Work
Monday Oct 05, 2020
Monday Oct 05, 2020
In the book, Every Good Endeavor, written by Timothy Keller, we learn that our work is a way of service to God and our neighbor. There are some who have great paying jobs yet are still miserable. As I write in my book, we were all created for a purpose. If you haven’t aligned your daily activities (including your vocation) with what your natural gifting is, you will struggle finding meaning or purpose in what you’re doing. Fulfilling your purpose is also work that benefits others (like your neighbor). Work that benefits others is greater than work that pays more.

Respect for the Flag
Friday Oct 02, 2020
Friday Oct 02, 2020
Yesterday, I finally had a chance to watch the first game of the NBA Finals which I recorded Wednesday night. As the National Anthem played, I noticed most of the players were taking a knee. Only it was different. It wasn’t a cavalier expression, it was real. Most of the players were humble and it looked like those on their knee were showing more respect than those standing.
There were some that looked as disinterested as Kaepernick did those many years ago and LeBron James had a posture of protest. The other players were broken. It looked as if some were praying. I was extremely impressed by the respect they showed to the flag that represents our country of Americans.Yesterday, I finally had a chance to watch the first game of the NBA Finals which I recorded Wednesday night. When You Find Weakness In Others
Wednesday Sep 30, 2020
Wednesday Sep 30, 2020
Zig Ziglar writes a clever comparison in his book, Secrets of Closing the Sale, of looking for weakness in others. In athletics you look for your opponents weakness to exploit it. In sales you look for your prospects weakness to strengthen it. Couldn’t that work with life? When you find weakness in others, what can you do to strengthen it?

It Was Very Good
Tuesday Sep 29, 2020
Tuesday Sep 29, 2020
Too often this phrase is in my head: “That’s not good enough” after I’ve done something for work or play. The problem with this internal dialogue is it spills externally. When it spills externally, I transfer a feeling of not good enough to others - which is something I’m getting better at NOT doing. Let’s follow the example of God this week and whatever we’ve accomplished in our work or play, let’s sit back and acknowledge: “It was very good.”
