Jealous of Your Dream?
Monday Apr 27, 2020
Monday Apr 27, 2020
You finally have a dream.
The quarantined time has allowed you to do some self-discovery.
You’ve finally answered the tough questions about yourself.
You’ve found your dream.
You start to share your dream.
As time goes by, you start to accomplish goals associated with your dream.
Some of your closest friends, even family members, remember when they strove for their dream. They try to discourage you because they weren’t willing to sacrifice the things needed to surrender.
Your closest friends or family members aren’t angry with you. They are mad at themselves.

The Hustlers
Friday Apr 24, 2020
Friday Apr 24, 2020
Hustlers (employed entrepreneurs), and those who want to be.
Hustlers are employees who work on the side to make extra money. This has generated a popular description called, “side-hustle.” If there is no money earned, it's a hobby.
The difference between a Grinder and Hustler is the Hustler has a steady flow of revenue from their “day job.”
Bankrate dot com conducted a survey with surprising results. In the midst of a healthy economy, and strong labor market, 3 out of 10 working Americans had a side-hustle.
The reason they needed the extra income was to help cover the cost of regular living expenses.
There are many books written on how to create and manage a side-hustle.
This is not a ‘how-to’ book on becoming a Hustler by starting your side-hustle. It’s not a guide for Grinders to help them grow their freelancer business. The book isn't meant to teach someone how to wake up at 4:00 AM in the morning.
You Got It; Now Go Get It, is a book targeting the root of why we do what we do. It provides 4 AM’rs, Grinders, Hustlers, and those who want to be, a blueprint. A blueprint on how to accept and embrace thoughts of being different. Because they are different, and uniquely created. The book goes to the root of their whole self, so they can master their whole self.

The Grinders
Thursday Apr 23, 2020
Thursday Apr 23, 2020
The primary audience for my book, You Got It; Now Go Get It are 4 AM'rs, Grinders, and Hustlers. Today we highlight the Grinders.
Grinders don’t have a job. They work as hired hands for companies or individuals typically in a project-based relationship. In March 2015, Fast Company published an article highlighting 53% of freelancers are women.
Barbara Booth published an article on CNBC.com titled, “Skilled freelancers, earning more per hour than 70% of workers in US, don’t want traditional jobs” pointed out:
57 million Americans are in the freelance economy, up from 53 million in 2014.
Freelancers doing skilled services earn a median rate of $28 an hour, more than 70% of workers in the overall US economy.
51% of freelancers say no amount of money would entice them to take a traditional job.
In an article published by Forbes in October 2017, Elaine Pofeldt, pointed out that 50.9% of the US population will be freelancing by 2027. The major driver is freedom and flexibility. Elaine Pofeldt, followed up with an article two years later (October 2019) revealing the younger the worker, the more likely they were to freelance:
Gen Z (ages 18-22) 53%
Millennials (ages 23-38) 40%
Gen X (ages 39 -54) 31%
Baby Boomers (ages 55 and over) 29%
Although living the life of a Grinder has freedom and flexibility, it also takes its toll emotionally. One of the most difficult tasks as a Grinder is finding consistent work.
They need a coach encouraging them to stick with it, to not give up, and define their future through visualization and self-belief.

The 4 AM'rs
Wednesday Apr 22, 2020
Wednesday Apr 22, 2020
The primary audience for my book, “You Got It; Now Go Get It” are 4 AM’rs, Grinders, Hustlers, and those who want to be.
Today we are going to highlight the 4 AM'rs. Tomorrow we'll talk about Grinders, and Friday, Hustlers.
According to The Wake Up Time Report, 2.5% of the 2,500,000 wake up calls provided by Snoozester.com were set for a wake up time of 4:00 AM. 4 AM’s are focused, structured individuals who find value in gaining an edge over others in their field.
These elite performers, of their field, offer a great ‘no excuses’ example of starting off your day with a win by being productive before the sun wakes up. Breakthrough starts each and every day with the time you wake up. If it’s not 4 AM, is it earlier than everyone else?

The Ego Debate
Tuesday Apr 21, 2020
Tuesday Apr 21, 2020
Ego is the biggest enemy of humans.
This was the meme I saw on Facebook and LinkedIn yesterday. This didn’t sit well with me so I looked up the definition of ego: noun a person's sense of self-esteem or self-importance.
Vocabulary.com describes this about ego: Poor ego, it gets such a bad rap, being so often confused with "megalomania" and "vanity" and all kinds of other nasty things, but strictly speaking it is only a psychological term popularized by Freud meaning the conscious (as opposed to the unconscious) mind, or the awareness of one's own identity and existence.
Definition of megalomania is obsession with the exercise of power, especially in the domination of others. Delusion about one's own power or importance (typically as a symptom of manic or paranoid disorder).
Definition of vanity is excessive pride in or admiration of one's own appearance or achievements.

Imposter Syndrome
Monday Apr 20, 2020
Monday Apr 20, 2020
In writing the book, You Got It; Now Go Get It, I learned there is a process you need to go through before getting the book published. It’s called a Book Proposal. The book proposal is like a business plan for launching a book. You need to have a Title, Subtitle, Table of Contents, Overview, Target Market, Author Bio, Marketing Plan, Competitive Titles, Timetable, Length and Special Features, Chapter Outline, and Sample Chapters.
It’s written in a specific font, size 12, double space. I’m not done yet and already at 60 pages.
I was moving right along until I came across the Author Bio. I’ve been going through online searches to look at samples and this is where my Imposter Syndrome hit me hard.
According to Psychology Today, Imposter Syndrome is “A psychological phenomenon in which people are unable to internalize their accomplishments.”

We Are Taking It Seriously
Friday Apr 17, 2020
Friday Apr 17, 2020
Denver Broncos star, Von Miller, has tested positive for COVID-19. Yesterday he shared an Instagram post: “Take this seriously. It’s definitely FOR REAL.”
Von Miller is allergic to grass. His home stadium is Empower Field at Mile High in Denver with a playing surface of grass.
Does grass lower your immune system?
The short answer to that question is yes. While having allergies doesn’t cause you to come down with a cold or the flu, the treatment of your allergies is a factor in your vulnerability to other illnesses.
Your allergies are going to be enflamed as long as you are exposed to the allergen; your immune system fights allergies thus weakening it which can make you susceptible to viruses and other germs.
Here is something serious: WE NEED TO OPEN THE ECONOMY back up.
Let’s take Von Miller’s advice and follow his example. Here’s what I mean, he is a phenomenal football player that’s ALLERGIC TO GRASS. Does that mean he doesn’t play football? He was the Super Bowl 50 MVP. Super Bowl 50 was played at Levi Stadium. On grass!
Von Miller knows the risk with his allergies yet he is smart in how he prepares for the game.
We as a country need to be the front runner, the example for the rest of the world and put people back to work.
Let’s stop trying to provide hope in a vaccine when what we should be doing is strengthening our immune system:

The Perfection Spectrum
Wednesday Apr 15, 2020
Wednesday Apr 15, 2020
When you go from doing to being, you enter the spectrum of others who are involved in the same activity. I call it The Perfection Spectrum.
I’ll give you an example. I’m a singer, others may sing. When I’m at a Karaoke bar, people are signing and most of them are off. Their pitch is off, most of them are drunk, they are having a good time. The audience is cheering for them. Really, really, loud.
When I get up there and sing, “Jack and Diane” or a song by Hootie and the Blowfish and hit every note, the audience claps. I don’t get nearly the applause as the ones who “sing” yet aren’t “singers.”
When someone who is not a “singer” is singing, the audience doesn’t raise their level of expectation on how they sound. Someone who is in the singer spectrum, an actual singer, brings with them an expectation of higher quality.
Once you’ve entered the spectrum, going from doing to being, others in the spectrum will notice you. There are two types of people in the spectrum, Joy Suckers and Encouragers. These are people who transitioned from doing to being before you, some long before you, and are in the spectrum you are now in.

Accept and Don't Believe
Tuesday Apr 14, 2020
Tuesday Apr 14, 2020
In the book, The Willpower Instinct, written by Kelly McGonigal, she describes how pushing away negative thoughts can have a counter effect.
Kelly writes, the more you try to reject negative thoughts, the more likely you are to become depressed. We need to make peace with the thoughts and not push them away.
This is where it really spoke to me – Accepting the negative thought isn’t believing it. You can accept the fact negative thoughts come; you don’t have to accept the content of the thought.
